Dell Latitude D600 Battery and the Laptop Details

Author:batteries shop

The Dell Latitude D600 is a small but quite functional and useful laptop. It's a thin and fairly light laptop suitable to use almost anywhere. Its Dell Latitude D600 battery and performances are okay considering the year it was manufactured, 2003. In 2004 the model was upgraded. It has a 1.8GHz Pentium MDothan processor based on Intel Centrino platform technology, 80GB hard drive, DVD+RW drive. The max RAM memory that it supports is 2GB, SDRAM. It features ATI Radeon graphic card, the 9000 series, which were around circa 2002-2004. The display is 14.1 inches with a max resolution of 1024x768 (XGA), further upgraded to 1400x1050, and the color support is 24 bit (16.7 million colours). It includes a comfortable, easy to use keyboard, a pointing stick and touch pad, and an internal swappable bay making this light weight notebook simple and effective. The dimensions are 12.4 inches in width, 10.1 inches in depth and 1.2 inches in height with a weight of only 4.6 pounds which makes it flyweight category. You must admit, pretty impressive.

The Dell Battery for Latitude D600 is a bit of a disappointment even thought it's not that bad that it takes away from the overall quality of this fine tuned operating machine. The battery is Lithium ion 6 cells. The voltage is at paltry 11.1 V with a capacity of 4700 mAh, but there are replacements up to 5200 mAh that will slightly increase its life. That means a lot to most of the customers as they do not want to recharge their laptop constantly. The battery lasts up to 1.5 hours less than the average laptops from that era and you need to take that fact into consideration if you want to run this laptop. The 14.1 inch display is draining a lot of the battery's life, for that time the display and the resolution of 1400x1050 pixels were great. So yes, you could partially blame that part for the battery's life. The Dell Latitude D600 AC adapter required 120/230 V and 50/60 Hz. It has a power output of 65 Watts.

Like we mentioned in the beginning, this laptop is fairly solid overall and despite the battery life it runs perfectly. The processor just makes everything speed away and you will be able to use the laptop efficiently. Just do not forget to bring your Dell Latitude D600 adapter with you wherever you might go as you might run out of battery during that very important meeting, conference or trip of any kind where you'll have to use a portable computer i.e. a laptop.
