Unknown by many people, alcohol-related charges do not stop at trucks, motorcycles, and cars. Law enforcement officers will be quick to point out that, in certain jurisdictions, using almost any vehicle while intoxicated can become grounds for a DUI charge. This has led to a history of unusual incidents in which intoxicated individuals have been ticketed on a wide variety of vehicles and even animals.

At some points during the course of one's life, being able to drink significant quantities of alcohol can be seen as a personal accomplishment. This is one side effect of subcultures which heavily promote drinking as a centerpiece of social activities, and from the outset it can begin to have a negative effect on a drinker's health. Excessive and frequent alcohol consumption can cause the body to become chemically dependent on alcohol. This can make it incredibly difficult on a physiological level for a person to bring him or herself to stop drinking or even to make responsible drinking decisions, and unfortunately this can have legal repercussions, including the possibility of facing prosecution for a DUI or related offenses.
